This study is designed to enable the student to understand the most basic fundamental Christian doctrines. It covers first five of the ten Christian doctrines.

TSD 460.3      Christian Theology II (3 Credits hrs)

This study is designed to enable the student to understand the most basic fundamental Christian doctrines. It covers last five of the ten Christian doctrines.

TSD 413.3      Concept of salvation in Religions (3 Credits hrs.)

Every major religion has its own concept and ways of teaching on salvation. Attention will be given to understand and evaluate their concepts and also help the learner to have the full knowledge on the various concepts of salvation and ultimately lead them to the biblical concept of salvation.

BIBLICAL STUDIES

BSD 402.3      Old Testament Survey (3 Credit hrs.)

This course surveys the books of the Old Testament from Genesis to Malachi. Attention will be given to the development of the theme in each book as well as to the mastery of the general content of each book.     

BSD 402.3      New Testament Survey (3 Credit hrs.)

A survey of the books from Matthew to Revelation, emphasis will be given to the theme, purpose, and occasion development of the argument as well as the mastery of general content of each book.

BSD 420.3      Life of Christ (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to let the student know the biography of Jesus Christ beginning from His pre-existence to birth and to death and His glorious return. 

BSD 404.3      Introductions to Pentateuch (3 Credits hrs.)

This course surveys the first five books of the Old Testament and helps to understand the purpose of the books.  

BSD 334.3      Book of Acts (3 Credits hrs.)

Designed to acquaint the student with Apostolic Christianity in its genesis and progress, its methods of evangelism, moral and spiritual atmosphere. The main source is the book of Acts in the English versions, together with supplementary reading.

BSD 336.3      Prison Epistles (3 Credits hrs.)

A verse by verse study of Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon showing the relationship between Christ and His church and the conduct of believers in the light of that union.

BSD 430.3      Old Testament Prophets (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is to study the context of both Major and Minor Prophetic messages and contextualize in the Morden churches.  The Major Prophets are known as Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and Lamentations. The Minor Prophets are Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.

CHRISTIAN MINISTRY

CMD 708.3    Leadership Skill (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is designed to build up leadership qualities and competency of the students. Special attention is given to the equipping and mobilization of the laity, the development of various ministers and the overall administration and management of the church programs.

CMD 407.3    Basic Christian Spirituality (3 Credits hrs.)

This is an overall emphasis Course in Human Development and will explore how spirituality impacts the successful living of Christian life.

CMD 450.3    Biblical Character in the O.T (3 Credits hrs.)  

 This course is designed to help the student to comprehend some of the important figures or personalities of Biblical characters in the Old Testament.

CMD 451.3    Biblical Character in the N.T (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is designed to study the Bible geography including maps, climates, economic use of resources, land formation and overall effect of the culture and custom of the then people.

 MSD 451.3     Missionary Biographies (3 Credits hrs.)

This is a study of the lives of great men and women in the history of missions to motivate the student to take up such challenges and make commitment in their lives for missions.

MSD 402.3        Rural and Tribal Mission (3 Credits hrs.)

 This course is designed to impart a general introduction to mission among the tribal community. It introduces the biblical basis for evaluating the prospects for mission and the application of the same in different contexts and needs.

MSD 401.3     Urban Mission (3 Credits hrs.)

 This course is designed to impart an introduction to theories and practices of urban ministries. It is designed to enable the students identify, understand and appreciate the enormous urban challenges for the ministry.

MSD 402.3     Introduction to Mission & Evangelism (3 Credits hrs.)

 A course designed to introduce the student to the biblical, theological, historical, and practical bases for Christian missions. And also  study some of the methods of evangelism and learn how to carry out the gospel to reach the unreached.

GSD 301.3      English I (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is designed to help students learn elements of the English language including grammar and grammatical usage, tense, vocabularies, building speech etc.

GSD 302.3      English II (3 Credits hrs.)

 This course is designed to help students improve in reading, pronunciation, comprehension and composition based on the text book. It is also designed to enable the student to express himself well in speaking as well in writing.

 GSD 408.3      Bible Study Method (3 Credits hrs.)

 This course is designed to provide a practical guide and exercises to enable the student of the Bible to be able to read the Bible more intelligently, to research basic questions about the Bible, to understand the basic principles of interpretation of Scripture with a view towards applying the Bible more consistently in their lives.

TSB 402.3      Christian Theology I (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to study on the three branches of systematic Theology (Bibliology, Theology Proper and Christology).  Revelation, inspiration, inerrancy and authority of the Word of God; The existence of God, knowability, attributes of God; His decrees, creation, preservation and providence, Trinity; the deity and person of Christ; incarnation of Christ; the work of Christ for our salvation.

TSB 460.3      Christian Theology II (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to study on the two branches of systematic Theology (Pneumatology and Angelology,). The personality of the Holy Spirit, the work of the Holy Spirit, His ministry and the creation of the Angels.

TSB 404.3      Christian Theology III (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to study on the three branches of systematic theology (Anthropology, Hamartiology and Soteriology). The study includes the various topics: the origin of sin; Man as created (origin, nature, and state); his fall; sin and its effects; the redemptive work of Christ, application of the work of Christ by the Holy Spirit in grace; predestination, election, calling, regeneration, repentance, faith, justification, adoption, union with Christ, sanctification, perseverance.

TSB 405.3      Christian Theology IV (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to study on the two  branches of systematic Theology (Ecclesiology and Eschatology). The study includes the various topics: Origin, nature and purpose of the church; biblical covenants; the sacraments; church government; relation of the church to eschatology; the intermediate state, resurrection and judgment, the eternal state; premillennialism compared with amillennialism and postmillennialism; varieties of premillennialism.

This course is an introduction to Christian Ethics, with a special attention given to methodology, biblical foundations and Christian responsibilities in relation to the Personal and current social issues.

BSB 404.3      Introduction to Pentateuch (3 Credit hrs.)

This study is designed to give a general understanding of the content, message and the development of theme in the first five book of the Bible. And also enable the students to understand the authorship and criticism in the study of the Pentateuch.

BSB 430.3      Old Testament Prophets (3 Credit hrs.)

An exposition of the pre-exilic, exilic and postexilic writing prophets (Isaiah through Malachi), excluding Jonah but including Lamentations with emphasis on the biblical theology of these books, their genre and application.

BSB 505.3      History of Israel (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to give a comprehensive treatment of the origin and development of the nation of Israel from Abraham through the period of the judges. Major introductory discussion will centered on the biblical chronology and O.T. historiography. This will cover the inception, growth and demise of the monarchy and conclude with the return to the land and the rebuilding of the temple.

BSB 444.3      Daniel & Revelation (3 Credit hrs.)

An intensive (expository) study of the prophetic message contained in the book, with emphasis on the historical, doctrinal and eschatological elements. And show how the book supplement the book of Revelation concerning Tribulation and Millennium.

BSB 420.3      Life of Jesus Christ (3 Credit hrs.)

A course designed to acquaint the student with the life of Christ, especially as delineated in the synoptic Gospels. The historical situations are studied in revelation to the time of Christ. Special attention is given to those events and discourses which most clearly display the pre-eminent place Jesus Christ should have in the life and ministry of a believer.

BSB 432.3      Gospel of John (3 Credit hrs.)

An analytical study of the Gospel, stressing not only on the life and ministry of our Lord, but those particular elements of His teaching which are emphasized by John specially his portrayal of Christ in His Deity. It also deals with the practical application of this Gospel to daily Christian living.

The course will seek to formulate the rational basis for believing in Christian theism, with responses to objections and critiques of competing worldviews.

 BSB 441.3      Pauline Writings (3 Credit hrs.)

The purpose of this course is to become better equipped to read the Apostle Paul’s letters as Christian Scripture. We will focus on many themes and various historical and theological particularities along the way as we “read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest” Paul’s letters, but the overarching aim is to learn to engage with Paul as a prime apostolic witness of Jesus Christ and thereby deepen our grasp of the Gospel.

BSB 443.3      General Epistles (3 Credit hrs.)

An analytical and a brief expositional study of the seven New Testament General Epistles with special attention to the theme and teaching of each book in relation to the life and ministry of a believer.

BSB 331.3      Synoptic Gospels (3 Credit hrs.)

A synthetic and analytical study of the Gospel accounts of the first three evangelists with an emphasis to the theological and other reasoning: their similarities and dissimilarities of the accounts. At the same time each Gospel is studied according to its distinctive view point.

MSB 401.3     Principles of Church Growth (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is to acquaint the students with the biblical principles and practices of church planting and growth based on the Bible. Key attention is given to historical models and cultural issues involved in the strategy of church growth. 

MSB 402.3     Introduction to Mission & Evangelism (3 Credit hrs.)

An introduction to the ministry of evangelism and missions that moves from its biblical basis and theological foundations to a study of contemporary strategies, methodologies, movements and trends with a focus on their practical application.

MSB 403.3     Church Administration & Leadership (3 Credits hrs.)

This course deals with the fundamental Biblical traits of a leader and identifies the various characteristics and responsibilities in the areas of church leadership and management for the smooth and undisturbed functions of the church.

 MSB 404.3     History of Christianity in India (3 Credits hrs.)

This course covers History of Christianity in India, its advent in the first century, its advancement in the midst of adversities and its unique impact in the Indian society in the areas of educational and philanthropic activities. This course helps students to understand the contribution made by Christianity towards the societal transformation and nation building of India.

LSB 560.3      Preliminary Greek I (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to introduce the student with the basic study of the preliminary Greek which is the primary language of the New Testament.

LSB 381.3      Preliminary Greek II (3 Credit hrs.)

Each student will learn Greek Grammar, Vocabularies and basic reading comprehension including parsing and translation in order to read the New Testament Greek.

CMB 451.3     Educational Ministry in the Church (3 Credit hrs.)

A study and examination of Christian Education program in the local church and of the principle basic to Christian teaching and of techniques and method which contribute to effectiveness in teaching. And also the study focus on the basic problems and principles of learning, the nature of growth, behaviour and learning capacities of children, youth and adults. 

CMB 421.3     Biblical Interpretation (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to study the principle of biblical interpretations. Emphasis is given to literal interpretation which is the historical, grammatical and rhetorical interpretation of the Bible.

CMB 705.3     Basic Christian Spirituality (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is a study of the basics of Christian life and discipleship and concentrates on Biblical spirituality and its dynamic relationship to effective evangelism. The students would realize the necessity and importance of being grounded on the Scripture as they set out their spiritual journey and God’s work. This course will also help the learners not to be diverted to any misconceptions of so called spirituality gushing out from different sources having no authentic biblical basis.

CMB 450.3     Preaching and Worship (3 Credit hrs.)

A practical study of the art and skill of preaching, pubic communication, pulpit delivery as applied to the preparing and preaching of topical, textual and  expository sermons.

CMB 401.3     Introduction to Pastoral Care and Counselling (3 Credit hrs.)

This course in an introduction to the study of pastoral care and counselling.  It deals with the principles and skills of counselling and also with the various practical situations.

This course helps the learners understand the basic study methods to be able to improve the skills of reading, learning and writing processes, to assist them to learn how to make secondary research and report the findings in the undergraduate level. This course introduces the need and challenges to Christian Apologetic. It is an in-depth study of the Christian faith in such a way that it may be defensible and stand the test of truth. A reasoned defense of Christian Theism is established using extra-biblical evidences and the authority of the Scriptures. The evidences for the existence of God are surveyed and analyzed of Christian Apologetic response to post modernity.

 TSM 541.3     Eschatology (3 Credit hrs.)

A biblical and theological examination of the final consummation; the return of Jesus Christ in glory and the attendant events. The Christ-centered nature of biblical teachings on the future will be emphasized, as well as the importance of the church's historic confessions for an understanding of eschatology. The course will thoroughly cover all of the important topics in both individual and cosmic eschatology: death, the intermediate state of the dead, the second coming, signs of the times, millennial views, the resurrection of the body, final judgment, eternal punishment and heaven.

TSM 417.3     History of Doctrine (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is designed to study some of the major doctrines of the historic Biblical faith. And evaluate the doctrines in the present context.

 TSM 409.3     Uniqueness of Christ (3 Credits hrs.)

 This course is designed to study about how Jesus Christ is so unique when we compare with the other so called gods and goddesses. The uniqueness of Christ is portrayed from the apologetic perspectives.

MSM 502.3    Contemporary Issues in Mission (3 Credit hrs.)

This course outlines the various issues in mission to acquaint the students with various emerging issues confronting Christian mission today and to effectively deal with them from the Biblical perspective.

MSM 402.3    Church Leadership & Administration (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to study about the basic principle of leadership and administration in the church as related to Christian ministry.

MSM 407.3    Pastoral Care and Counselling (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is an introduction to the theology and practice of pastoral care, psychology and counselling. The study facilitates the student to have basic skills, right attitude, knowledge and spiritual character to provide meaningful and faithful pastoral care and counselling. Emphasis is on the practical matters for the local pastor.

 MSM 406.3    Mission and Evangelism (3 Credit hrs.)

‘Mission and Evangelism’ is an introductory course that provides the biblical and theological perspective of mission and evangelism. This course also focuses on the need and importance of cross cultural mission and includes the cross cultural mission strategies emphasized in India.

 MSM 530.3    History of Christianity in North East India (3 Credit hrs.)

 This course covers the history of the Church in North East India, the work of early church pioneers and their growths are examined.

CHRISTIAN MINISTRY

CMM 506.3    Spiritual Leadership (3 Credits hrs.)

This course will explore the nature of Christian leadership with particular focus on leadership styles and skills. Attention will be given on how to lead people, groups and churches to be more effective in ministry and outreach.

CMM 450.3    Worship and Preaching (3 Credits hrs.)

This course aims at developing a new understanding and skills in the art of preaching. It helps the student know about the nature of preaching and help them in the process of sermon preparation. It is a practical study of the art of preaching, public communication, pulpit delivery as applied to the preparing and preaching of biblical expository sermon.

 CMM 450.3    Christian Ethics (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to study about the basic principles of biblical ethics and the moral values of life. It also deals with the methodology based on the Scripture and the Christian responsibility in relation to the personal and current social issues.

CMM 503.3    Marriage, Family and Parenting (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is designed to understand marriage, family and parenting life with  reference to the changing patterns of family so as to engage in the ministry of marriage, family and parenting counselling effectively. Such as the role of family and parenting in influencing the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and rational growth of its members. It also deals with the basic analytical and practical skills in dealing with marital, family and parenting issues in their congregational ministry.

RELIGION AND SOCIETY

RSM 504.3     Introduction to World Religion (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is a critical introductory survey of the world's major living religious traditions. Traditions examined includes Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Shinto, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism and a selection of new and alternative religious movements. Students will investigate the belief structure, ritual system, sacred literature, social dimension and historical development of each tradition.

BIBLICAL STUDIES

BSM 421.3     Biblical Interpretation (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is designed to study the arts and skill of Biblical interpretations in its context. It Introduces the science of hermeneutics; the various literary forms in the Bible, use of OT in NT, typology, the various methods and tools of exegesis and exposition. Alleged contradictions in Scripture and the resolutions of these putative contradictions proposed by orthodox, biblical interpreters; relevant interpretation techniques and their significance for the broader enterprise of biblical exegesis.

BSM 504.3     Biblical Theology (3 Credit hrs.)

This course is an important Christian approach in which a student studies the Bible from the perspective of understanding the progressive history of God as revealed to humanity from the Fall and throughout the Old Testament and New Testament. It particularly focuses on the epochs of the Old Testament in order to understand how each part of it ultimately points forward to fulfillment in the life and mission of Jesus Christ.

LSM 560.3     Advance Greek I – Syntax (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is designed to review the basic Greek Grammar. The student learns the vocabulary and  basic reading comprehension including parsing and translation so that it will help the student to do the Greek syntax and exegesis.

LSM  561.3    Advance Greek II - Exegesis (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is designed to give an adequate exposure of the Greek Syntax to the students and is also focused in training students to do proper exegesis in the New Testament using the original language (Koine Greek) with the help of the available resources.

LSM 382.3     Preliminary Hebrew (3 Credits hrs.)

This course is designed to introduce the Preliminary Biblical Hebrew to the students, intended to provide them with the necessary knowledge of the language that will enable them to use basic tools like Hebrew lexicons and Dictionaries.
